What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a complimentary therapy which works alongside conventional medical care to support wellbeing by aiding relaxation, releasing tension, improving sleep and boosting mood. Such improvements can provide support with physical or emotional conditions by enhancing wellbeing and in-turn the ability to cope with stress and illness.
This holistic therapy focuses on the body as a whole to restore the body’s natural state of balance known as homeostasis. It is non-invasive and therefore suitable for all ages. Pressure is applied using the fingers, thumbs or knuckles to the feet and or hands. Reflexes have been mapped on the feet and hands, each representing a body part, organ or system for example the balls of the feet/hands represent the chest/lung area. Through stimulating the reflexes and nerve endings messages are sent directly to the organs of the body with the aim of re-balancing the body’s systems as well as providing an amazing sense of calm.
